Begin with an early pick up to make the most out of the day. Then to start off this wonderful tour and historical journey, we’ll visit the marvelous ruins of CHICHEN ITZA! It once was one of the largest and most important cities in Mesoamerica. Chichen Itza was an important center of political, economic, and cultural power for the ancient Maya civilization. It was one of the largest and most powerful city-states in the region, and its influence extended throughout the Yucatan Peninsula and beyond.

Even after several hundred years of being built, now in ruins, its legacy continues to fascinate and inspire people around the world.

Your bi-lingual guide will share with you fascinating information while you explore the ancient city together. And then you will also have some free time to explore the site on your own and take pictures. 

After a nice walk under the Yucatan sun in Chichen Itza you will have the opportunity to swim in a real and stunning cenote! So don’t forget to bring your swimsuit! The Cenotes were sacred to the Maya and swimming in one of them will not only be amazing but also refreshing.

After swimming in the cenote we know you will be hungry, so it would be time to enjoy a delicious lunch, where you’ll feast on traditional Mayan food and other Mexican delights.

In Mexico there is a popular saying that goes “panza llena, corazón contento” (full tummy, jolly heart). So, once we have our hearts jolly it’s the time to visit the stunning colonial town of Valladolid, Yucatan. In recent years, Valladolid has become a popular destination for travelers seeking an authentic cultural experience. The city’s streets are lined with traditional houses and shops, and there are many local shops to purchase handcrafts and textiles from! Prices in Valladolid are very fair, btw! 

This charming and historic city also played a significant role during the Mexican Revolution, this is commemorated through a number of monuments and historic sites, including a monument dedicated to the heroes of the Mexican Revolution at the city’s main plaza. Oh! One more thing, if you are an enthusiast of visiting Mexico’s “Pueblos Magicos”, guess what! Valladolid is on the list!

Once we are done, we will head back to the Mexican Caribbean and will drop you off at your pick-up point.

TIPS: 

• Valladolid: the two famous photo spots in town are in front of the San Servacio Cathedral and the other one in Paseo de los Frailes street (picture with houses and beautiful colors).
• Cenote: I recommend bringing water shoes, swimsuit, and a water-proof case for your phone in case you want to take pictures.
• Chichen Itza: bring cash in case you want to purchase any of the souvenirs that are sold inside. Don’t forget your sunscreen! Eco-friendly sunscreen is a good idea!
